Paper Done!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!
(one more)
!
Okay, now back to writing more consistently. When I finish a paper, I always have a ton of thoughts that need to exit my brain, so in no particular order (from last weekend):
Dave Matthews Concert: Mandy and I went to see one of my all time favorite bands in Nashville last weekend at Vanderbilt Stadium. The concert was amazing; one of the best I’ve ever seen. Tim Reynolds played for the whole concert. There are not many bands that blend so many musical styles into one group and they do it well. We learned a couple of things:
1. Outdoor concerts in April are great. We sat almost as far from the stage as you could be, yet felt like we could see everything and really enjoyed the music.
2. Jason Mraz opened and Mandy and I agreed that we need to invest in some of his music. It’s music I want to end a day of work with while drinking a cold one.
3. If you spent $50.00 on a ticket and then proceeded to get so inebriated that that you threw up and put your head down for the entire concert, you need to ask some serious questions. (Happened one row in front of us). Which leads me to my final point from the concert.
4. There are few things funnier than drunk men hugging. It’s like the brotherly affection train got out of control. These guys were not gay (they had wives and girlfriends) but they were hugging, high fiving, patting each other on the head, saying things like: “You’re the best,” “I’m glad we’re friends,” and after the 20 minute beer run, “Dude, welcome back.” I could not keep from laughing at these guys who were too tough to care normally but all of the sudden had a special moment. (Everyone who has been to a sports game or concert serving alchohol knows exactly what I am talking about).
Country Music Marathon: We got up Saturday morning and when to see some of the finish of the Country Music Marathon. It got me motivated to run another one, and I am planning on running it next year. My buddy JT was actually there (we did not know) and told me it was miserable. We really enjoyed Nashville and I look forward to running in the city. I love marathon training because I can eat all day and still lose weight.
The Melting Pot: Mandy’s anniversary present was a trip to a fondue restaurant called The Melting Pot. For every other guy out there, fondue is basically melting stuff to put on food or a pot of boiling water with spices, etc., to cook the meat and veggies. I was skeptical. I was also wrong. It was delicious. The cheese was great. The meat was great. The dessert was great (who doesn’t love food covered in cheese or chocolate)?
So, it was a great trip. The best part was spending time alone with Mandy and just having fun. It’s been a great 5 years.
